Has anyone heard of this?  (From what I've read, this ED is different than Bulimia because binging ISN'T a problem.)

Yes, purging disorder is defined as someone who eats a normal meal or small amount of foods and purge (vomiting, diuretics, laxatives or enemas) the food.  They do not binge.  Bingeing is defined as eating large quantity of foods in a short period of time to the point of being stuffed.  Individuals with purging disorders often are normal or near normal weight.  Currently, purging disorder is under Eating Disorder NOS (Not Otherwise Specified) in the DSM-IV TR diagnostic manuel for psychiatric disorders.  To learn more about other eating disorders, visit the bella vita website.  Dr Patricia Pitts The Bella Vita  Los Angeles, CA
