cant eat right

my brother told me the other day that he doesnt eat for a couple of days and it happens alot so he thinks that he is going to die cause of this, is this true or is it in his head?

I deal with the same thing.  If he has struggles with ED (eating disorder), Anorexia  has the highest death rate of any mental illness.  I have felt like I was going to die because I was so week that even breathing was exhausting.  I went to the doctor and ofcourse I lost a lot of weight, but when they checked my blood work, heart, and lungs everything was ok (at the moment).  I have had my liver start to shut down on me before but luckly I was able to turn things around at the time.  Without food your organs will start to shut down.  Even before that happens anorexia is very terifying.  You really do think that you're going to die yet you still don't eat.  So in answer to your question, it could be in his head, but that doesn't mean it needs to go untreated.  I would deffinatly get checked out by a medical doctor.  Ed is a very hard thing to overcome even when you want to.  So I would recommend looking into it further and find someone who specializes in Ed if necessary.
