couple of questions, no one to ask

I'm anorexic, but am trying really hard to recover.  I started eating normally again about a month ago.  I've abused laxatives off and on for years, but stopped about a month ago and am just flat out not going to do that anymore.  Are there any lasting affects?  I've been having stomach aches a lot.  Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and am nauseated and it's that feeling like the day after you've taken a bunch of laxatives.  Sort of a slightly hot pain all over, like what you get when you do way too many situps.  Like indigestion, but not in your chest, down in your belly.  Pepto and antacids don't help at all, almost seems to make it worse.  Any opinions on that or similar experiences?

Also, I have another question.  I'm recovering now, and am 5'2", small framed, female, and 29 yrs old.  I weigh 97 lbs right now, so I'm pretty sure that for my height and frame, although still underweight, I'm not in danger anymore.  My question is, now that I'm trying to beat this, should I go to my general practitioner and tell her what the deal is and ask for a physical exam?  Do I need one?  Or is that more something I should have done when I was way underweight and now doesn't matter so much since I'm gaining.  Would that just open a can of worms with the doctor that would be more trouble than it's worth?  I don't know what they're required to do if you tell them you've got an eating disorder.
Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Hi. First of all, yes, i think you should go to a dr just to make sure everything is ok. It is hard to recover on your own. I should know, Ive been Bulimic/Anorexic for going on 9 years (im 23 now).  I had gotten down to 100 pounds on a 5'8 frame. I never went to rehab, but i did go to therapy and a dr, plus my mother helped alot. I sort of recovered then about 5 years ago i relapsed again. I have my good and bad days. I didnt get my periods for almost 5 years. I messed up my body a bit to the point were i dont even have to use anything (finger, or anything) to vomit, i just can do it.  Im still trying to recover, even though i am pretty healthy, because i dont want to live like this anymore. Especially for my son and husband. Its been a struggle, but you can do it!

Get to a dr ok, and let him/her know whats been going on. They can help you, and tell you what you need to do. They can refer you to a dietician and therapist and also help you themself. Good luck!
