For people with eating disorders it is very important not to focus on fad diets and weight loss. Losing and gaining weight over and over just maintains the vicious cycle of an eating disorder. The beginning of recovery from an eating disorder starts when we realize it isn't about food and weight at all but about so many other things including how we feel about ourselves.
Absolutely! It's important to think of changing your lifestyle and doing healthy loving behavior for yourself. By making one positive change per month, continuiing it and adding a new one per month can make a huge difference in attitude and weight loss. By drinking 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water a day is a great start. Keeping a journal as a safe place to process your feelings and thoughts. Focusing on eating 5 a day - that is 5 servings of fruit and/or vegetfables a day helps individuals start desiring and even craving heathy foods.
