pregnancy & anorexia

hi, I have had anorexia for a number of years & it's been bad the last year - I have been hospitalized 5 times to specifially deal with the ED & probably 6 to 8 times due to weight loss, low potassium/electrolytes, one time, even having to get an NG tube shoved down my nose.

I had my last IP stay in mid january & was doing ok. Now, I am getting sick uncontrollably, found out I am pregnant. I actually want to eat, but I have lost weight from being sick all the time - I went from 107 to 100 last week, after being flu-like sick for 3 days in a row. Now, this week I'm even less - like 96 lbs. I see my dr. Tomorrow but I'm afraid she's only going to put me back in with an NG Tube. I need to know WHY I cannot make my body accept food/fluids!?!?! My bf keeps telling me I'm sick "because you make yourself get sick!"  I have a baby inside me that needs nourishment! Even I can make myself eat for that reason. I have before! Now it seems like I can only keep fluids down. I try to make nutritious protein shakes & can handle them,as long as I sip on it for a few hours. Can anyone offer any help? I really want to do what is best for this baby. This isn't so much about me or how I feel, it's about making this baby the healthiest he/she can possibly be!

I'm sorry you are having this problem. It sounds like you are afraid nobody will believe you because of your problems with anorexia. If you are sick and unable to eat then you are doing the exact right thing by seeing your doctor tomorrow. If you are being honest with her and have been in the past, then she will look for other explanations for your current problems and help you so that you can have a healthy baby.
