Help! I have been having sleeping problems most of my 39 years. About 6 years ago, the Dr. gave me Ambien. I take 50 mg. a night. I also have been sleep eating. I have gained about 60 lbs., and dont realie that I am eating. I have tried other meds, but can go without sleeping for days. Being a mom and a professional, I cannot go around like a zombie. I really need to get off the Ambien, so I can loose the weight. HELP

That is a huge dose of ambien, and yes ambien can cause night eating syndromes. I am not a sleep expert, but it sounds to me like that is who you will have to go see, and yes you should get off the ambien.
