I'm 19 and prescribed Paxil...I'm already over weight and have heard Paxil causes rapid weight gain..is this true and do you have a suggestion as to what I might ask my doctor to prescribe if not the Paxil??

Yes, paxil can cause weight gain, but not for everyone.  If it does for you, ask your doctor about wellbutrin...you also might follow up on the emotional eating component that is causing you to be over weight at www. shrinkyourself.com

I've been on paxil for several years, and didn't gain an ounce.  :)
