Adenomyosis??

Adenomyosis??

Hello. I have been bleeding for 2 weeks and my dr thinks it may be adenomyosis. She wants to put me on progesterone to see if it stops. Has anybody ever dealt with this before? I do have cysts on both ovaries, but I have never bled for this long. It's getting a little rediculous! I was dx w/endo in 06. Thanks for any help you have to offer!

Oh honey- same thing just happened to me! I was bleeding for two months straight and found out I have adenomyosis. I went on the depo shot a couple days ago (progestrin) and the bleeding stopped. I've also heard the Mirena IUD stops it as well.

I was diagnosed when I was 22 with Andenomyosis. The Doctor tried the Mirena IUD. It did not work. About a year after that another Doctor decided to try an ablation on me and then put the Mirena IUD back in. After the surgery the pain was nothing compared to what I went through with my monthly that I walked out of recovery without even taking the pain killer shot. I was in bliss for 3 years no period, no pain, and no accidental pregnancies.  Then I started to shed again, and the pain is back almost as bad as before. Each month gets worse. When my 5 years were up, I went to get the IUD removed, and replace it with a new one cause I found out of all the birth control I've tried my PMS is the most level on the IUD. Anyhoo the doctor couldn't get the IUD out. She said she was going to have to freeze me. So we set up an appointment and I went in she tried to remove the stupid thing again with freezing and... it still won't come out. She has a feeling that scar tissue from the ablation has grown over it and it may be stuck in me forever. In a week I'm going under she is going to take a look at the inside of my uterus and see if she can cut the IUD out. Shes about 70% sure she can. If she can't I have to live with an IUD inside me for the rest of my life. If she can get it out, shes not willing to replace it with another one. So what do I do for Birth Control? She has decided as I've already had an ablation and the possibility of pregnancy drops huge and its not really safe to be pregnant after an ablation shes tying my tubes. I would prefer a hysterectomy.

I have both adenomyosis & endometriosis. I have tried the mirena, various progesterone based contracetive pill and Provera but none of them have worked. I am 31 and haven't had children yet (and I want a family) so I can't have any operative invasion to my womb.

I bleed with the all the remedies I have tried and bled 8 months straight last year. This year I tried another mirena which gave me an infection so it was removed. My Gynae specialist suggested the contraceptive pill all year theough with only 2 break bleeds a year. Unfortunately I started to bleed whilst on the pill and began to flood. I have been anaemic for the best part of 2 years and am fed up of the dozens of medication prescribed to me.
I want to try a more natural approach. I have heard that excercise and diet can make a dramatic improvement. Has anybody found this to work for them?

I feel your pain I also want to get pregnant I am 38 so you are a little younger then me but his endo thing is no fun been suffering since 1997.  I know I can get pregnant I did in 1997 and miscarried and that is when they found my endo and I had my first surgery.  I have had 4 surgeries and my left ovary removed b/c of many many large cysts this was done in 2008.  Went off the pill to get pregnant while on the pill periods would be from light to heavy but nothing like the flooding have been having and was diagnosed with adenomyosis on the progesterine now not helping making it worse.  What natrual things do you know about willing to try anything want this bleeding to stop so we can try to get pregnant.  As long as I sit with my feet up it is not bad but when I move around alot here comes the flow and I am so so so so tired started taking Iron pills I do feel your pain
