Adenomyosis...anyone???

I recently had surgery to remove a huge mass on my ovary and had to have my left ovary removed as well. My doctor told me that I have adenomyosis. Has anyone ever had this or heard of this? He told me it's more common among women who have already had children. I have two girls but I am only 28. After surgery I felt so much better, no more constant cramping and being tired. Well, he told me that I could go at least three years without having to have a hysterectomy as long as I could tolerate the pain. Like I said before I have never felt better, but just these last two weeks my energy level has gone down back to where it was before surgery and I am having pains again! It also still hurts during sex. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this instead of endometriosis.

OMG it is horrible.  I have it as well. I just had a lap to have my endo removed and am left with adeno and feel the same basically.  I've had constant cramping which has had my dr having me visit for PAINFUL checkups which has had him advise against sex obviously as well.  Energy levels low; likely due to depression from going through surgery with hopes of feeling well to still feel aweful.  Painful cramps.  I had surgery just before thanksgiving and still at least twice a day i am doubled over with cramping.  I can't hold down food with out help of a rx.  I have bm and diareah issues too.  Likely from the high doses of ibuprofen they have me on for the pain (thanks for nothing...)  
I'm 30.  We tried having children years back and were unable because it turns out (just found out during my lap) that i had large cysts blocking my tubes (in addition my husband doesn't produce sperm so it's a double no there... we adopted).  
I haven't had sex in almost a year now. I am in constant pain. I don't know how much more my marriage can take. I don't know how much more I can take!!!!
So, no help but sure can comisserate.. sorry for the horrible spelling... i'm getting lazy and tired and for sure cranky and frustrated!!!

It is awful! I had surgery just before Thanksgiving too! I need to make another appt with my doctor here soon so I can figure out what I need to do to get rid of the pain...meds or hysterectomy! Sex is hit or miss here in this household and it has really affected our marriage. My DH just doesn't get it although he has been there with me through it all. He is so great before, during, and after surgery, but then he thinks I am just all better! I also have problems with bm. It hurts so much and half the time I swear I am dying b/c the cramps are awful. I can't hardly sleep anymore do to them. And I need all the sleep I can get b/c of my girls and I made a decision to go back to school before all of this happened and with me having no energy it has been so hard! All I want to do is sleep and sit around. Well, I hope you can get yours taken care of very soon! Always great to have someone else to relate to when it comes to women stuff and pain!

Man you said everything I feel.  I thought I wrote it for a second.  Keep me posted how your dr treats you and I'll do the same.  We need help and I'm not sure I'm getting it.

started having surgery 1997 for endo just had my 4th surgery and been trying to get pregnant for past few months Lupron treatment scared me so oped not to just to many side effects and knew we wanted to try to get pregnant.  Just diagnosed with adenomyosis and have been bleeding for 3 weeks light to heacy to light to heavy seems the hormones he put me on are making the bleeding worse he said it would help me also if we could get pregnant keep me from having a miscarriage I know how you feel frustrated.  I am not in a lot of pain they took the ovary I was having all the cysts in out in Dec 2008 this adenomyosis thing is frustrating and I do not want to have a hysteroctomy please keep me posted going back to the DR this coming week b/c the bleeding is getting worse guess they may do a DNC not sure this bleeding *****
