Has anyone use yaz to treat Endo? did it help?
I found a product called Menastil that really helps with pain when used with ibuprofen. It is made up of essential oils. It works kind of like putting Ben-gay on sore muscles. It has a warming, cooling feeling. You can google it and buy it online.
The diet works if you follow it. I had a lot of pain-free months until the holidays, in which I went off the diet for almost 6 weeks, then I had very painful periods again. I am back on it, so now we'll see if I can get back to less pain again.
I have ordered the book mentioned above and also The Endometriosis Natural Treatment Program by Valerie Ann Worwood & Julia Stonehouse. I am looking to find a natural way of controlling the symptoms of Endometriosis. I had lap in September & the pain has returned. My Dr has suggested BCP & Lupron. I have read A LOT of bad side effects from Lupron & I really don't want to take BCP. I have not discussed my plan with my Dr only because I want to try this on my own & see what happens. I have to try something because the pain is almost unbearable at times. I am willing to try anything at this point. The Natural Treatment book talks about diet, supplements & essential oils. Has anyone else tried any of these with great success? Any information is much appreciated!
I found a all natural supplement that swears to help eliminate endo. I ordered it and am still waiting. My gyno put me on BC and after takin 1 pill had a reaction that lasted for a week. He keeps tryin to get me to take BC again!!! And whenever i try talkin to him about the depo shot he doesnt give me a straight answer. Which is why i am tryin this product called Endovan. The website is www.endovan.com. I also googled it and found other forums where women say it works. U should check it out.
I diagnosed with endo in may, with lots of adhesions, polyps, a large cyst removed. I started the diet immediately ( because my symptoms returned in two weeks). I did a very strict diet ( no gluten, red meat, diary, eggs, artificial stuff), did the supplement ( vit B6, EPO, natural progesterone cream, multivitamins), and I got pregnant by end of June!! The birthcontrol made my symptoms worse, and I refused to go on Lupron, or take any medicine. That book by Diane is awesome, but u have to follow it diligently
Hi fedup100,
I just googled Dian Mills and found her website and email. Thanks for the tip. I do actually have her book. I have several books on endo and nutrition that I'm starting to follow. 9 days ago I cut out wheat, red meat, pork, dairy, caffeine, and alcohol. I will probably end up fudging a little on the alcohol on the weekends :) . I'm happy to hear that cutting out gluten has helped you so much. I also started buying organic fruits and vegetables. And fyi I found out that rice milk tastes pretty good! My skin has cleared up quite a bit already too. It's good to know that it helps for other people, because my doctor looked at me like I was retarded for thinking that diet would help. Diet didn't help one of my best friends who has endo. She had to have two laprascopic surgeries in one year. So I just needed a little encouragement after my downer follow up appointment and talking to my friend.
If you want to know about diet and endometriosis you should read the book:
Endometriosis: A key to fertility and healing through nutrition by Dian Shepperson Mills & Michael Vernon.
Dian Mills is a clinical nutritionist who practices in England. She specializes in endometriosis.
According to Dian, 80% of women with endo are sensitive to wheat. Dairy is also problematic for many. If you are interested in her websites and e-mail, send me a private message and I will give them to you. She will do consults long distance. The reason I have not consulted her is that I cannot afford it.
I have discovered that I am sensitive to gluten. Getting gluten out of my diet has made a huge difference in how I feel.
I hope this helps.
I have not tried this myself, but I know others who have tried adjusting their diet to avoid animal products, and this has helped. Cheeses, meats and things like that which come from animals can have hormones in them, thus spiking your estrogen levels up and causing pain. Finally makes sense to me why I would get sick when I would have anything with butter or eat a steak. Good luck!
