Do I have Endometriosis?

Do I have Endometriosis?

My mother thinks I do.
I have had horrible, debilitating abdominal menstrual cramps since my 1st period, along with fatigue, headaches, and emotional upset. I've learned to manage the cramps by keeping a steady supply of ibuprofen in me -waking in the night, often woken by pain every 3 hours to take more. The pain is deep, dull, and relentless, like a ball of fire turning between my abdomen and lower back. This is the devil I know: Now for the one I don't.

In the last year, I have experienced a whole new beast in menstrual pain, and although I have had a couple episodes mid cycle, it has been during my periods that I really thought it was going to kill me.

The pain has a different quality, it is sharp and sudden, and gets progressively worse before subsiding. It is in my abdomen, but I also feel it very much in my rectum and vaginal walls -almost like the entire pelvic region is contracting violently, or being torn open -Gory, isn't it?
The last time it happened, it put me on the floor. If I could have gotten up, I would have gone to ER. I was so scared.

I'm mid cycle now, but had to excuse myself from an important meeting this morning, because I could feel the threat of that pain coming on, and did not want to be in front of the public if it took me down.

I've read up on endo, and I'm not at all happy with what I'm finding about causes -"duh, we don't know", diagnosis -exploratory surgery, and treatment -hysterectomy, etc.

I'm really disgusted with the medical establishment ignoring women and our uniquely painful disorders, so before I consult with them, I would rather consult with all of you.
I appreciate any thoughts.
Especially if you know a Dr. in the Los Angeles area who is worth the big bucks they charge and knows any thing about this, or has helped you.
