Endometrioma cyst.. Will I lose my ovary?

I copied part of the TVUS report below and the part that worried me was that I believe it is saying that my right ovary "contains" the cyst meaning the cyst is "inside" my ovary... My new gyno thinks it is an endometrioma and that I probably have endometriosis so she wants to do a laparoscopy after I go for another TVUS scheduled for Dec.12th...  am I correct that the cyst is in my ovary because the report says that the right ovary "contains a complicated cyst" or is it on my ovary? My new gyno thinks it is an endometrioma and wants to remove it... If the cyst is in my ovary and it is an endometrioma then does this mean it has taken over my ovary and they will have to remove my ovary as well?


RIGHT OVARY: 4.3 x 3.5 x 3.2 cm. This contains a complicated cyst with low
level internal echoes and multiple internal septations. The cyst overall
measures approximately 3.6 x 2.4 x 2.7 cm.

I don't know. But all I can say is that it is still very possible to fall pregnant with only one ovary. It's not a problem. But  I hope they don't have to remove it.

I had the same problem.
I have endometriosis, diagnosed a couple years ago. With the cyst on my ovary I guess it took over the ovary. So I had to have half of my left ovary removed.

with having the ovary removed, it depends on if you have any healthy tissue left.
I guess with my left ovary there was still some healthy tissue left so, my dr. left half of my ovary. BUT... since I have half of the ovary left over, I get lots of cysts.

If you do need to have the ovary removed, you still can get pregnant with 1 ovary. It might take a little longer since you'll have 1 ovary.
