Frustrated & tired

Hello friendly people! Just looking for some words of wisdom, encouragement etc.
I'm 31 no kids. I have always had painful menstrual cycles, but seem to get worse with age. I have been on so many different pills I couldn't even name them all, mainly for pain and heavy bleeding. Within the past few years things are progressively getting worse and I'm now linking symptoms together. Bowel/bladder changes around cycle, low back pain, leg pain, worsening cramps, etc. the last bcp I was on I would take continually skipping the placebo, but it got to the point if I took it 15 minutes late one day here come the cramps and nausea and all that fun stuff. About two years ago I had a vaginal us and they found two small fibroids - nothing to cause pain or concern. So this past February at my annual appointment I was complaining about the bcp, so she gave me other options and I decided to go with the skyla iud.  It was inserted on April 1.  Since then I have had very few periods YEAH, but I still cramp every month. Last Sunday I woke up in the middle of the night w horrible cramps (this has happened before, even before the iud) so every night since I woke out of a dead sleep w cramps... Nothing helps. Stretching, ibuprofen heating pad etc. So I finally called the doctor on Thursday to get some stronger pain medicine to get me thru this cycle. They decided they wanted to see me. So Friday morning I went in, and my dr thinks it's the iud. Here is where my frustration comes in. I've had these symptoms prior to the iud and she was aware, but she never goes back and looks at history NEVER. so they did another ultrasound (also had one after the iud was placed) and there is a small fibroid... Ya I know we found them a few years ago... Not one word was said about that. Errrrrrr :) she gave me a script for pain medicine and an anti-spasmodic for my bowels bc I told her idk if it's the cramps or having to go to the bathroom that makes things worse BUT it's only around my period I have these pains... In June I went to my pcp because I thought I had c-diff again (test were - PRAISE THE LORD) but looking back it was during my cycle... I am 100% certain it all has to do w my uterus and surrounding parts and hormones. So I left the doctor Friday completely annoyed and frustrated. I don't feel it's the iud causing this, but she is certain that's what it is. I don't know what to do to get thru to her. On my way back to work I called an scheduled an appointment with a different doctor. Hurry up November 7th!!! As I lay here in bed w the heating pad I'm trying to gather my thoughts and symptoms. Currently uterine cramps, bowel/bladder differences than normal, muscle spasm in tail bone area (sometime this gets so bad I can't put shoes on - one day I wore slippers to work, but that was prob 3 years ago long before the iud) nausea, headaches, etc. I'm terrible at tracking cycles and symptoms. How do I get this new dr to understand? Idk if it's endo, but I suspect it is I have no idea I'm just tired and I'm sure my friends are tired of hearing me complain too :) any words of wisdom?

Would you be covered if you could have surgery in Milwaukee? This surgeon here is one of the best in the US. I have heard many great things about him from many who have had surgery with him. If not I can get you a couple of more names.

How do you go about finding an endo specialist?

I agree with Annie find an Endo specialist.

I would also make sure you get copies of all the tests that you have done like ultrasounds and blood and keep them on file to show the endo specialist. This will prevent you having to repeat same tests over and over again.

Ask for a referral to someone who specializes in endometriosis.  Also, when you get to the new doctor, ask if there is a possibility of tracking (by several days worth of blood tests) whether your progesterone drops rapidly at the end of your cycle.  Sometimes a too-rapid drop can give you all kinds of symptoms.  If that were it, a small progesterone dose every month end (that tapers you down) would help.  In general, it seems like doing a blood draw every day for a week would be a good idea to see what can be told about your estrogen levels also.
