Heavy bleeding

How heavy is too heavy when it comes to menstrual bleeding?  My doctors always say if I saturate a pad in an hour then I should be seen right away.  Well today I just about saturated one in about 2 hours and I don't know if that is an issue or not.  I had an u/s a couple weeks ago because of heavy bleeding and they noticed that my uterine lining was thicker than it should be since I had just finished my period a couple days before.  That is also when the found something on my uterine wall, which I have to go back for another sonogram on the 1st to have checked out again because they were not sure what it was.  With all of the problems I have had since last May I just don't know what to worry about and what not to anymore.

I don't know...when I was in high school my periods were aweful. I saturated a tampon and started leaking through a pad in about an hours time - especially if i sat for awhile then stood.

I would call your doctors office and ask a nurse or have the doc call you back. You might need to be seen especially because of the abnormal u/s you had. If you start soaking more, go in right away. I hope it stops asap!!

I have noticed that you guys really reccomend going to a Endo Specialist.  I was looking at my OBGYN's bio and it sounds like she might be pretty familiar with issues similar to Endo and when she talks to me about it and makes suggestions she really seems to know a lot about it.  Can you check out the Bio and let me know what you think?

Everthing is so screwed up right now.  I went from barely bleeding and only using 1 pad over an 8 hour span to soaking through the next one in only 2 hours.  Then overnight, barely any bleeding and it's not so bad again.  I went to put in a tampon this morning and shortly after I was getting severe pain on my right side, I took it out and the pain didn't go away and started radiating across my uterus.  Now the pain is gone again and I am not sure where I am at with the bleeding because I am at work now.  This period has been so back and forth with the bleeding and pain that I am just irritated.  lol  I am hoping that this next u/s tells us something, I am seriously considering a hysterectomy because I have had SO many issues in the last 9 months.

I am not on any type of HRT.

I have always had heavy periods but the last few have been really heavy.

On the last few u/s's they have said something about how thick the lining is.  Not sure if it's an issue or not.

They found something on my uterine wall but were not sure what it is.  I go in on April 1st for another one where they will put saline in my uterus to get a better look at it.  They are not sure if it is a polyp, blood pool or what.  I had this kind of u/s last July and ended up needing a hysteroscopy to have the tissue removed because even with the u/s they did not know what it was.  It ended up being a benign tissue of some sort.

Are you on any HRT's?

I am thinking that is the norm with Endo, well at least it was for me.

The thickening of the lining could be from various things.

On your ultrasound did they find any fibroids, polyps or cysts?
