How did you all know you had endometriosis? what were the signs?

I have been trying to conceive since august 2007 with no luck my periods are 27 days and i ovulatate between the 12th and 14th day of my cycle.

I have quite bad cramping when AF is due sometimes i can't move off the sofa because of it.  I also have a 3 day light spotting then really heavy bleed for 3days which then is light and stops until my next AF.

My aunt has endometriosis and i wondered if this was a reason i may not be conceiving, what are the symptoms and signs? could i still conceive if i had endometriosis? Could there be any other possible reason i have not fell pregnant yet?

I'm 23 years old and i am a bit overweight but i have changed my diet to more fruit and veg and have been ice skating for a bit more excerise.  Could someone help me please!!!

Hi there.  I was diagnosed supposedly with a cyst of unknown origin, probably cancer and uterine fibroids.  My PF said that he had to remove everything and leave me without the possibility of having kids. Also, I didn't have irregular or heavy periods, every 26 or 28 days, and had suffered from IBS and urinary infections for many years.

So, after searching on line, talking to doctors I finally found a doctor who was also worried about my fertility.  I was operated on Dec. 27th and what the doctor found was an endometrioma and was able to drain it and preserve my ovary.  Then, I was put on Lupron and I feel pretty well and have gone back to my normal life.

No one suspected endometriosis and the Lupron helps control the endometriosis and improve your fertility.  I haven't actually tried to conceive and the doctor told me to try to conceive naturally or if not, he would put me in some kind of treatment.

Try finding a doctor with whom you feel comfortable and get as much advice as you can.  In here there are a lot of ladies who have gone through so much and they can help you out.

Best wishes,

Neta

hi there Gillian,

reading your post gave me shivers I have exactly that - we have been trying for close to 6 months to conceive nothing I get my period every 26 days 2-3 days very light then normal

I went to a fertility specialist and he did an internal scan from that he picked up 3 large endometrioma and endometriosis, also had bloods done my endometriosis is inside my ovaries and they stage it 1-5 if its high you will not conceive normally until its removed mine is a stage 4 and I will NOT conceive until they remove it

I highly suggest going to a specialist and running your checks they will pick up any and all problems and then at least start to rectify it to help you conceive.  I didnt even have a clue that I had endometriosis till seeing a specialist

please keep me updated ok

hugs
