Laproscopy for endo

I had my lap done Feb 28th.......The result of the surgery is that I have severe endometrosis, they had to burn off 8 lesions and cut one off. I am also missing a fallopian tube?????? Anyone ever heard of a missing fallopian tube??
This is the first my surgeon has ever seen. Thinks I was born this way, to top it off I have a 10 yr old child!!!!!  My surgeon could not believe what she saw when she went in, she was so happy that I had this surgery done.
While they were trying to remove my iud, they had complications and punctured my uterus because my cervix was so small and tight.....The first 3 days after the surgery was bad gas pains in my shoulder, everytime I took a breath it hurt. I found laying down with my feet elevated helped alot. My symptoms has gotten so much better, no more bleeding after sex and no more yucky discharge like before. I am now waiting to start my next period to see how that goes....I hope this helps anyone who is looking for info on lap surgery....It's really not that bad, alot of rest in the first 4 days is crucial, but still be able to move around is also important.

I'm not positive if I have endo, but to add to domandcamismom I have had pelvic pain for 4 years and physical therapy helps a LOT. It doesn't cure the pain forever, at least in my case, but frequent appts keep it under control.

I think it all depends on the type of BC they put you on.  I am thinking the pill I am on right now is not working for the Endo because I am still having issues and pain all the time.  It may take a while for them to find the right form for you but from what I hear, once they do find it it can really help.  I have also heard that there are types of physical therapy you can do to help with the pain.

It wont cure it but it does suppress it.  I have had no pain in 3.5yrs taking the pill continuously.  It was a good three years lol.  Not taking something will only make it worse.

The endo will grow back even if you are on medication. You can't stop it, only slow it down. I'm sorry, but there is not cure yet. Not to mention the horrible side effects of most of that medication! I can't take it.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but I'm sure you have some more peace of mind with it. Stay strong!

Sorry to hear the bad news.  Nothing worse then finding out you have endo!

As for your missing fallopian tube it is rare but it does happen. It is a congenital defect.

The gas pains in the shoulder are normal and usually go away after 2 weeks.

Has the doctor not put you on any for of medication to suppress the endo?  The endo will grow back if you dont and usually they tell you this before your surgery.
