Those two hormone are add-back and very important with helping to curb the side effects of instant chemical menopause.

I love that I do not have a period and being on Lupron also helps keep my migraines under control.

How long have you been on Lupron? If you have just started it you will have one more period but after that you should not get one while you get the injections. Are you getting the one month, three month, or six month?

So, I got my last Lupron shot in Sept. And I still have not had a normal period. I had a little blood last month of the 6th that only lasted 2 days. I am starting to worry a little!! My boobs have been super sensitive again as well.. Any idea's when I should expect a normal period again??

Hello. I was told by my dr to go on lupron for my endometriosis, but I'm concerned about the side effects. I too am wondering if it really does help and the side effects that others have experienced. Any info would be great. I just don't know anyone in person who has experienced the whole chemical menapause thing.
I don't have insurance so the doctors I see don't really seem to want and/or care to explain what it will be like.

The pain is constant!! It got really bad! Like the same severity as when I was in the hospital and they told me a cyst had burst!! It was brutal!! I now know I can no longer take tramacet for pain! Got a bad reaction to it last night.
And yes, I have had one laparoscopy in 2011.
I think the worst symptom im getting on the Lupron is hot flashes! And boy are they bad! Lol. My last period was lighter and barely had any Endo pain! Which in my books is awesome! I just don't know what is going on with the pain in my lower back!!

and from my own experience, no matter how thin and healthy i got it made no difference. in fact when i was eating great i lost 20lbs and my period stopped for 3 months. i still had pain, doctors said my body was going into menopause. they had to give me meds to get my period again, i was only 23 years old.  i put the weight back on the pain was still there, and my period was all over the place. my first doctor that recommened it delt with it first hand, his wife and sister who was a dr in the same office suffered from it, the second doctor i went to also had the same experience with endo and lupron first hand.

is it just right after the injection or is it constant? if its right after it might just be a surge of hormones. it is a powerful drug. and it doesnt always work the first time. its not a permanent fix, but it does slow the growth of endo tissue, and for some women thats enough to help them be pain free for a while. have you had surgery? i dont remember if you said you had or hadn't? not that you wanna be cut open, and that isn't a perm fix either, but every little bit helps and at least they can see first hand whats going on in there. most tests will not show the severity of your endo

I have looked up the book and see that is endorsed by the endo assoc (huge plus) so my surgeon does know Dr. Cook since my surgeon happens to be on the endo assoc board.

Good luck w/everything,

I eat a good diet. I avoid dairy, soy, gluten, high fructose corn syrup, all artificial sweeteners, processed food. I take fish oil, vit d, and K, I also use turmeric, and a  multivitamin. I also drink ginger tea.

I know Lupron is a powerful drug. I have tried the natural way to control my endo and did well for four years. I have an endo specialist for my doctor who wants the best for his patients. I trust my doctor. (My doctor may even know Dr. Cook because he is good friends with all the endo specialists .) I do know about Dr. Cook I have recommended him to others. Not only the Lupron help with my pelvic pain but it also helps with my migraines (which all my neurologists could not do.) Endo is a syndrome and has more than one cause and what may work for one person may not work for another.

I am not happy to be on Lupron but at this point in time nothing else works. I have read too many ways how to cure endo naturally than I care to think about. By the way heating pads are NOT the way to go because this increases the inflammation caused by endo. Ice packs work much better and longer.

Where can I find what he writes? I am seeing Dr. Leyland for my Endo. And the Lupron is just a step to finding out if my Endo is causing the really bad pain I have been having. It is the cause he will be taking other steps to cure me (I'm hoping). But I think it is working. I mean my period is less painful this month! It is just light spotting, it hasn't been heavy all month! Which in my books, is awesome! I have 2 more months of the Lupron/ hormone therapy. So, who knows, maybe it will be worth it to be on it!

Lupron is a very powerful drug. Don't take it!!! I always tell fellow endometriosis sufferers that drugs and temporary fix surgeries are not the answer. Read-Stop Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain by the doctor himself-Andrew S Cook. Instead of giving temporary relief, he will cure your endometriosis. Most doctors are ridiculous but he actually cares and wants the best for you. I was at a chiropractor visit and the nurse was telling me about how her daughter has horrible endometriosis and that her surgery is next month by this same doctor. What are the odds. Lupron is making you pretend that the pain is not there like morphine. It is not curing the cause. Have a good diet, take advil way before your period starts, have hot water bottles and heating pads ready until your surgery to cure your endoemtriosis once and for all.

i dont know if it would show kidney stones.  that is one thing ive never had.....you will feel them burst, even little ones you can feel burst, but the severity isnt as bad. im in the same boat as you have one that is a nice size and i have to be careful with my one year old jumping on me. but ive been told that just laughing can cause it to burst, walking, coughing...it doesnt take much.they may shrink before they burst though, so stay positive, even though i know its hard when your in pain all of the time.

Is there any for sure way of knowing if one bursts?? I have 2 pretty big ones on either ovary! And I'm worried that doing too much will make it burst! I don't know if it is my kidney or not!! But even still I am having a lot of pain in my right side mid back. Right around my kidney!! The only that I has seem to work at the moment is Tramacet!!
I don't think they are going to put me on Birth Control. I think they would have by now!
And I have no problem with down there, that I know of. I'm normally not "dry" when that happens. But I may try lube and see if it helps.
My doctor is getting me in for another ultrasound on my kidney to check it would again! Would an ultrasound show kidney stones if that is the cause of my constant pain!?!

well when birth control didn't work for me, (i would still get my period all the time for long periods of time, or go 2 or 3 months without it) and i had many sonos that showed the cysts, and i had 2 big ones pop a year apart, the doctor diagnosed me with it. im actually confused at this point with lupron, because my doctor put me on it to stop my period, and put my body into menopause to stop the growth of endometriosis. so in a way it was like birth control. i dont think they would put you on anything else. honestly, nothing ever really stops the pain, after the cysts pop the fluid in it gets reabsorbed into your body, but they shouldve given you an antibiotic for it, thats what my doctor has done in the past incase of an infection, even if none showed in blood work or urine test. but if your having problems with your kidneys then you should see the urologist for it. oh and i just read some of your post over again, as far as sex, if your getting the shot once a month, there may be trouble in little china, get yourself some lube, there is a good chance of it being the sahara desert.  your hormones wont be there to keep you lubricated.

Well, I have been in pain since July 3rd!!! Right around my right kidney!!! And nothing is working for the pain!!
Is there any way of knowing for sure if it is pcos?? I don't think I can go on birth control while on Lupron and the 2 hormone pills I am already on. I really hope it is not pcos!!

pcos- is polycystic ovarian syndrome. sounds like you have it. it is usually very painful depending on the size of the cyst when it bursts. i had one the siz of a plum burst while i was at work, i was in the bathroom and i stood up to pull up my pants and then it hit me. i fell into the wall, almost passed out. i got pale, dizzy and had cold sweats. pain subsided after a few days. usually they put you on birthcontrol to shrink them. they usually burst right before your period. or they shrink right after your period but can come back.

So. Results are in!! I have a cyst on my right ovary that has burst already. I have one on my left side that may have burst already. I have 2 complex cysts one on both ovaries. The two are 3.5x3.7x3.5cm in diameters. 1 is 1.7x1.4x1.8cm in diameter with debris within it. It is hypoechoic. (what ever that means!!)
Have to go back for another ultrasound on 6 weeks to check them!! They also found blood in my urine and thinks it may be kidney stones!!

Hey! i did lupron, twice. the first time it didnt really work, i was still getting my period till the 6th shot, and i had the worst hot flashes, mood swings the first week after each shot. the first cycle i lost 25lbs, but durning the second cycle i gained it all back plus and extra 5lbs. after the second cycle i had no pain really, occasionally with sex, but not like before. i was even able to get pregnant. as far as your cysts they will def go away while you are on lupron, no period, is because of no estrogen, no estrogen means no cysts. you probably pcos. i have that too on top of endometriosis.  i have had many cysts burst. all they can do is put you on birth control for it.  and if you have endo a ct scan wont show crap, they only way to see it is to open you up. i went to 2 doctors and they both told me the same stuff.  and yeah you breast will be sore. and you may feel a little nausa after each shot. i use to get headaches here and there too. but i have to say the hot flashes were the worst part of the whole thing. as the months go on you'll get them more and more.

They never told me! They just said it sounds like a cyst burst. I may have more than one. But I have NO idea!! I am going to have my family doc order a CT Scan when I see him next! I am tired of all these pointless Ultrasounds that don't show anything!! And all the blood work and hospital visits!! Will let you know when I know!
Did you even get sore breasts while in Lupron? They really effing hurt lately!! And i'm not sure why!!!
