Anyone in here been treated with Lupron before and what were the results? I have had several surgeries to remove the endo and tried every drug except Lupron so it's now or never and they keep bringing up the hystorectomy now that I went into my 30's - thoughts?? Also any doctor recomendations around central Wisconsin woudl be highly appreciated! My insurance keps changing and I have to switch doctors all the time and not having a consistent caregiver is HORRIBLE!

I hate insurance. I've been fortunate enough to have one of the best doctors in the Twin Cities. I also had severe endo - having surgeries twice a year to remove it. My doc did put me on lupron and I was on it for 4 months (1- one month shot and 1 three month shot) and it took my body about 9 months to get rid of it! I had all the symptoms of menopause - night sweats, hot flashes, sore muscles, depression. It was terrible. After that I told my doctor he can do as many surgeries on me as he needs to because I refuse to be on meds. The lupron didn't suppress anything - I still had cysts and endometriums in both my ovaries so it didn't work for me. It does work for some people though and unfortunately you won't know unless you do it. If you choose to - I would do one month at a time to see how you react.

I also couldn't lose weight after being on Lupron. I tried everything and when my mom introduced me to this organic nutrition I decided to give it a try. It changed my life! I started it in Oct of 2013 (with another surgery scheduled the beginning of the year) and felt a difference immediately. I had tons of energy and slept SO good. I felt it really was working and then when I had my surgery with my doc in March this year I was right. It's the only thing I've found that has worked and the best part is that it's all natural, organic food!! My endo was barely in existence and I know it was because I was cleansing toxins and putting such good stuff in my body. Now there's a shot of me getting pregnant!!! YAY!!!!

Good luck deciding what you'll do. You never know until you try but everyone I've talked to (and including personal experience) has said nothing good about it. But you know your body better than anyone. Good luck!!

I want to clarify a couple of things before I answer.

Marissa- With all due respect there is no such thing as stage 5 Endo and a full hysterectomy will not cure Endo. You have been mislead unfortunately. Also I would like to state that nothing suppresses Endometriosis.

SerephinaAstarte- I did 3 rounds of Lupron from 2007-2013. All three times I had the same side effect (Joint and muscle pain, severe depression, insomnia, etc) Pretty much I didn't do well on any medication other than Marvelon21 a continuous BCP.

If you look in my journals in my profile and my blog you can see my response to each time I took it.

Have you ever had excision surgery? (cut out) or was it laser? Was it an Endo specialist?

You have one of the top surgeons worldwide for this disease close to you.

I have severe stage 5 endo and I tried lupron twice for 6 months then 3 months. It didn't help me at all I got dbl the amount of cysts because the lupron wasn't suppressing anything. I'm only 23 and luckily I finally got pregnant once this baby is born I'm getting a full hysterectomy! The pain is just not worth it and also the side effects for lupron ars incredibly bad I thought I wanted to die sometimes then deal with the symptoms. I will  never do it again!!!
