Adenomyosis is simply endometriosis inside of the uterus, and it is a very serious disease as well. I do not know if you are still wanting to have children, but conceiving after an ablation can be fatal for YOU AND BABY. I had an ablation(Novasure) in October 2014 due to how thick my uterus had become from adenomyosis. I had an MRI, transvaginal ultrasound, blood work, and a biopsy taken from the back wall of my uterus to confirm the diagnoais before I was told I needed surgery. An ablation is only a short fix, like a bandaid. I have not had my monthly cycle since the ablation, but just short of a year from the procedure my pain came back 10x intense than what it was before. Your menses cannot escape to shed like it should during your period because the ablation burns your complete uterine lining out. The blood feeds back into the uterine muscle causing the adenomyosis to form again and keep growing. I have not had any imaging done yet. BTW, during my ablation, I also had the lap to determine if I had Endo. Unfortunately, I had Endo in several places of my abdominal cavity and on my ovaries and Fallopian tubes. I had a cyst on one ovary as well that was removed. The Endo was supposedly excised from abdominal cavity and scraped off of ovary, but I know both adeno and Endo are back in full force with the way I hurt EVERY SINGLE DAY. Anyways, my fallopian tubes were not salvageable... They had to be taken completely out. However, like I said, getting pregnant after an ablation is very fatal for mom and baby. So, I guess losing my tubes wasn't that bad. At least I was able to have one healthy child after a miscarriage and before the surgeries. Ask questions always, and please do your own research so you know exactly what is going on.
I agree with ticked. Surgery is a big deal for your body. Don't ever do it with a doctor you're not sure of. Always seek second opinion, but best thing you can do is search for an endometriosis specialist in your area. They've done thousands of endo surgeries, they know what to look for if you absolutely need it. Don't just go to a baby doctor. I'm recovering from a lap right now myself, and I tell ya, it's no walk in the park. You feel like you've been hit by a truck after. A surgery is always a big deal, so do lots of research. Good luck!
Adeno and Endo can go hand in hand and if you feel a bad vibe I would go get a second opinion because you can have both.
I would suggest seeing an endo specialist that excises (cuts out) the disease as that gets to the root of the disease.
If you need help finding an endo specialist I can help you out, just let me know where about's you live.
