Not familiar with Endometriosis

I am almost 26, with 2 kids. In February, I had laparoscopic surgery to look for endometriosis. *Endometriosis is not  in my family* The gyno only found a huge ovarian cyst, and removed it. She put me on birth control and I have to skip the placebo week, to skip my period. The whole time I've been on this pill, I have had some of the same symptoms including very painful bowel movements. Over the past 3 months, my cramping has gotten worse, I've been spotting, and painful intercourse. I went to see my gyno, yesterday, and she is assuming it is another cyst; but is sending me to a GI doctor for a colonoscopy, just in case she didn't miss something during the laparoscopy. Is it possible to have endometriosis on the bowels and NOT on the uterus and other female organs? I'm beginning to get worried.

Endo gets into your abdominal cavity and attaches to any organ. If your doctor isnt familar with endo she might have missed it. I would get a second opinion. I am not saying that u have endo or that your doc is wrong, but if u still have doubts get a second opinion.

Yes, endo. can grow anywhere, on any organs/bowels.  I had some on my bowel but not on my ovaries.  Endometriosis doesn't run in my family either... it really stinks!

I also had a colonoscopy and an Upper GI to see if it was something like that before they did the surgery.  They ruled the other things out before confirming the endo.

You could go ahead and get a second opinion as well, trust your instincts!
