Not sure if I should worry...

Hey guys,
I'm 20 years old, and I was wondering if anyone could help me because I'm not quite sure if I should be concerned if I have endometriosis... I started to feel pretty consistently sick about a year ago, and have been seeing a GI for some prominent digestive issues such as frequent and chronic constipation, abdominal pain and nausea. I have gone through almost every GI test there is, and many doctors have told me that it is just ibs... I'm not so sure it is though because the pain has only been worsening with time , and none of the medications I have been prescribed have given me any substantial relief. I stumbled upon endometriosis while I was looking at other causes of my symptoms I might need to discuss with my GI, and it sounds pretty spot on. Sex has become pretty painful for me over the years during and after with occasional bleeding, and after my last period the pain in my abdomen just won't go away... I'm weary to bring it up to my doctor though for many reasons. I am still in college and an afraid testing for it could interfere with classes. More importantly though I'm a little worried I might be wrong, and get the (slightly) invasive test for it for nothing. Is it common for symptoms to be confused with  Ibs? Am I right to be concerned?

Any advise is much appreciated!
Thanks

I should let you know that not all people with endo have excruciating pain so it could be very likely esp with the bowel symptoms.

Have you ever been on birth control before? Sometimes that masks the pain of endo and why some women don't feel the endo pain until later in their teens, twenties etc depending on how long they have been on it for.

I went to over 40+ doctors for 14 yrs and was diagnosed twice with IBS, Fibromyalgia by the time I was 17. I wasn't diagnosed with endo until I was 27 through laparoscopic surgery.

My periods themselves have been hurting, but they're not unbearable. The past few have been a bit irregular, and I have been getting cramps days or even weeks before I actually bleed. I have also noticed that recently my periods have been causing increasingly painful constipation or sometimes diarrhea. My last period just ended, and I'm still having pretty severe pain that feels like cramps as well...

Thank you for the info too, it helps put my mind at ease.

IBS is something that almost every person with Endometriosis has been told they have.

Just so that you know Laparoscopic endo surgery is minimally invasive if done by an endo specialist.

How are your periods? Do you have pain with them? Do you have bowel pain with them?
