Novasure Endometrial Ablation

Novasure Endometrial Ablation

I have been plagued with heavy bleeding so my family Dr sent me to an obgyn.  She tried some pills that did not work.  Said she would like to try and IUD but insurance is not paying for that anymore and I could have this.
Reading the comments here not sure if will do it.  However would like to hear about this type in particular.  Has anyone had this done?  If so what did you think?  I know there are different methods to doing the Endometrial Ablation.
Thanks for your response

I had the Novasure procedure done last July. I was under general anesthesia because I was also having laprascopic surgery for an endometrioma. On the other hand, if someone is just having the ablation done, my doctor told me that it can be done while you are awake. They give you Xanax and a bunch of other pills.
It definitely made my periods lighter. I had a fibroid and a polyp in my uterus that was causing the heavy bleeding and cramps supposedly. Now the cramps and bleeding are less, but I still have a day and a half where I need to use super-plus tampons and take some advil, but no where near as much as before. I used to have to change the tampon every hour, and overdose on Advil. Sorry if this is waaaay too much information, but I just wanted to give you my complete assessment. My doctor told me that many women stop having bleeding totally, but that wasn't the case for me unfortunately. Would I do it again? Yes, I would. My quality of life has really improved. Now if they can only come up with something for irritability!
One thing to note is that you cannot get pregnant after this procedure, and it is permanent, no turning back. I did not like the IUD at all. I had severe cramps every menstrual period after it was placed, and the bleeding got gradually worse and worse. Could it have caused the fibroid and polyp I wonder?
In my opinion, I wouldn't base my decision on what insurance does or does not pay for. It is your body, and the insurance company has their bottom line in mind, not your health.
