Possible endometriosis?

First off I am only 17, but last month on my period I was having the worst cramps ever. I have been on BC for over a year and that has helped my bleeding slow down and my cramps to let up. The pain was in my lower pelvic region around my ovaries, down in my hips, and in my lower back. I went to my family doctor where they did a pelvic ultrasound and it showed nothing wrong. They put me on antibiotics and told me I have Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. In a week or 2 the pain was gone. Now I just ended my period and the pain is back. Is my PID acting up or something else?

I have been in HORRIFIC amounts of pain today, all over my abdomen, my back and in my legs, plus severe nausea. The doc changed my BC last month from Ortho Tricyclene to Sesasonique, no reason just thought I would try it. I also had a Pap Smear last month and everything was normal there. I am sexually active but no known STD. The nurse at my high school thought I might have Piriformis Syndrome dealing with my sciatic nerve. Maybe...maybe not.

Umm that sounds like you need a second opinion. I have endo plus | ended up with PID because of another STD. It is rare but can happen but most of the time PID is caused by an STD. Are you sexually active?

Endo cant be seen on an ultrasound, CT or MRI as I have had all three and I had StageIV endo.

Have you tried taking the pill continuously?  If the pill helps a bit but hurts again once you have your period this might help.

I have had cramps since my second time having a period and since my surgery I have been on the BCP continuously and I have no cramps. The odd time I will but nothing at all what I used to get.

HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN ... Trust me.  I had the same symptoms since I was 16 (ended up in hospital twice due to pain around my period time) and now at 37 I am suffering from Endometriosis which my surgeon (who took out my left ovary and a HUGE cyst that was attached to it) told me I probably had since I was a teenager.  Have them give you another Pelvic U/S perhaps closer to your period time.  The Cysts are usually fuller than.  If I can shout this advice to all teenage girls with your symptoms I WILLLLL.
Hope this help and if it is Endometriosis - have them care for it now before you are ready for kids.
