Pregnant once, pregnant likliness again?

I am wondering...I have endometriosis and a history of ovarian cysts (one big enough, it had to be removed by surgery in '05).  I thought I would have problems getting pregnant, but I did not have any problems getting pregnant with my first child (born Nov 22 '08)...does that mean more than likely I won't have problems getting pregnant again or do you think I was just lucky??? I am 28 years old, I want to make sure I do everything in my power to prevent having fertility issues.  I also heard from someone that you are more fertile after having one child...is that true?  I took birth control pills before my pregnancy to regulate my cycles b/c of the endometriosis and pain associated with it.  I haven't started taking the pills since then b/c I am nursing.

Lupron is rated in category X meaning it cannot be given to women who are pregnant as it can cause birth defects-exactly what, I'm not sure.

My first pregnancy after Lupron was rough:  I did conceive twins and miscarried Baby B at 8 weeks.  I had hyperemesis gravidarum (severe nausea/vomiting in pregnancy), asthma and preeclampsia.  None of it was caused by Lupron.  My son was born at 32 weeks due to preeclampsia and died at 12 days of age due to multiple birth defects-again, not caused by Lupron; what happened to him was considered a fluke of nature.

My second pregnancy after the last course of Lupron (my 3rd pregnancy) was rough as well.  I had severe hyperemesis and preeclampsia again and my youngest daughter was born at 29 weeks.  She is healthy.  My second pregnancy (my middle child) was rough as well and I didn't do Lupron before it-my body just isn't made to have babies nor be pregnant apparently.  My middle child (oldest daughter) is healthy as well.

The side effects of Lupron are rough but I do recommend it:  I don't think I would have conceived my first pregnancy without doing it and I feel very strongly that I wouldn't have my youngest daughter had I not done Lupron:  I think it put my endo in "remission" to where I was able to get pregnant.

Yes we are trying to conceive for 5 years with no luck. How were your pregnancies after Lupron? Does it effect  baby development? Would you recomment me to take it or no?

Ok, I think I might have misunderstood something-my apologies.  Have you been trying to get pregnant for 5 years?

I did not take Lupron yet. I just can't get pregnant for 5 years. They put me in category of unexplained infertility and finally decided to go with laparoscopy to search for endometriosis, what they found. Now they want me to take Lupron to treat it . Thank you very much for oyur story. You inspired me, to take that scary drug

Did your doctor tell you that you couldn't get pregnant for 5 years after taking Lupron Depot?

If s/he did, they are mistaken.  I conceived my first pregnancy after taking Lupron Depot for 6 months.  I waited 6 weeks and I hadn't gotten AF yet, so I started Provera to induce a period.  I then took Pergonal (injections) along with HCG trigger (to make myself ovulate) and conceived twins.

With my second pregnancy, I did 3 cycles of Pergonal with HCG trigger and 3 cycles of Gonal F.  With the 3 cycles of Gonal F, I did IUIs each time.

I did a second course of Lupron Depot about 3 years ago.  I waited for AF to return without medical intervention and 2 cycles later, I learned I was pregnant for the 3rd time.

It really is hard to say.  It varies from woman to woman.  In my experience, I had a very difficult time conceiving my first 2 pregnancies (I had to take injections with both and had IUIs with my 2nd) but conceived my 3rd pregnancy on my own without medical intervention (a HUGE surprise).

You really won't know until you try.

there is no straight forward answer because everyone is different. you may or may no have issues with getting pregnant, you are just going to have to try. if the endometriosis gets worse, there is a chance that it may be harder to get pregnant but some women with endometriosis dont have any issues with getting pregnant at all, while some do. the sooner you try, the better chance you have due to the endo growing- but you just never know til you try again. i had surgery for endo in jan 09. i have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half- still waiting...
