Question for gals with Endo...- few of them.

I'm 20 and was diagnosed last November with endometriosis after having a cyst rupture while at work. I had a lot of cysts removed from my ovaries Via davinci assisted surgery. I've tried birth control with no luck, and most recently I've been on norethindrone 10mg a day and again am still having constant bleeding. What are the odds that the cysts have come back already in April? How many surgeries did you have? I'm 20 and already want a hysterectomy but I don't know how I feel about children yet. I'd rather have been blissfully ignorant to having Endo. My periods have ALWAYS sucked but I just can't get a break now. Lupron as a treatment sounds wayyyyy too crappy with side effects and mood swings :( what's worked for you?

It sounds like you also have PCOS.

There are two great surgeons in New york that are Endo specialists that I would recommend.

The first one I have actually met at the Endometriosis symposium in toronto she is amazing

Dr. Iris Orbuch

202 Spring Street, 2nd Floor,
NY, NY 10012
T: (212) 343-3040
F: (212) 343-3036

Specialisation: GYN only
Bowl/urinary tract surgery: Unknown

and this one. I have not heard of this surgeon but if it is posted on this site he is a good one esp since he/she does some of their own bowel and urinary work.

Dr. C.Y. Liu

Forgot to mention my ovaries were barely visible under the amount of cysts I had at the time. There was roughly 13 of them covering both ovaries and some were very large.

Hi! I live I upstate NY near Albany. My surgery was done by an oncologist because initially they feared I had ovarian cancer due to a very elevated CA 125. He removed all lesions and cysts on my ovaries via excision. I bleed on birth control and while on progestin currently I have bad bleeding and cramping. That's why I'm afraid the surgery was ineffective.

Have you ever been tested for PCOS? Recurrent cysts/multiple cysts are an indicator of it..

A hysterectomy will not cure endo I just want you to know that. Did you only have the cysts on the ovary or lesions else where? How were they removed? Laser or excision? Endo specialist or a reg OBGYN?

Lupron is brutal.

This is my suggestion. You need to see an Endo specialist and there are only a handful worldwide. Let me know where abouts you live and I can give you some names. Once I had my excision surgery in 2007 I went on Lupron for 3 months then was on the continuous BCP for 8 yrs. I had no Endo pain because it stopped my periods and ovulation therefore stopping the pain.

Let me know how I can help.
