Severe Ovulation Pain?

Severe Ovulation Pain?

This is my first time ever asking anyone if this is normal or not! I am 32 yrs old, have 3 children. I only had problems getting pregnant with my second & was on clomid which worked. I have had painful ovulation for a long time & I always have just considered it to be normal. My OB/GYN appts have always been normal. I've never had an abnormal pap. But I've always had mid-cycle pain which I assumed was ovulation. It lasts for several days... starts out as a tender sore pain (always on my right side) and gradually builds up in intensity. It comes to a head so to say where I am in severe pain for a good hour and have to basically be laying down in order to cope with it. I assume that this is the point that the cyst is bursting. The pain is a ripping tearing stabbing pain that is hard to describe. But once I get through that the pain goes down & I would say that I am sore on that side for a day or so after the intense pain. I had a cyst on that side during my last pregnancy which was painful but not very bad... just mostly a sore feeling throughout my pregnancy. My doc was not concerned b/c it is normal to have a cyst during pregnancy & it was not big & did shrink down to real small towards the end of my pregnancy. So I guess I am just wondering if this is something I should get looked into more or if it is just ovulation pain & I am just supersensitive to it. Anytime my ovaries have been looked at I have been told they look fine, so I don't know if I should be concerned or not. I mean the pain is horrible & not fun but it does only last a day or two & I get through it okay. When I was on the pill I never had this pain. It only started when we decided to have children. Also I have a Mirena now & evidently I am still ovulating with it, so the pain continues. I don't know if I should consider going back on the pill since that seemed to solve the problem? Anyway, opinions would be greatly appreciated! I am tired of going through the pain, but I also hate going to the doc lol.

Endo doesn't always show up on an ultrasound, so the only way to be sure is through surgery. When you have a ruptured cyst you should always go straight to the ER. It sounds like you have a problem and should opt for the surgery. I know it sounds scary, but you'll be ok.
