Suffering from endometriosis

Me and my husband have been suffering from infertility for five years now. We are canidates for invitro, I have endometriosis and PCOS. My husband has low motility sperm and abnormal morphology, I do not want to go through invitro again. I want to fight this on my own. Is there a way to cure endometriosis natural?

HYSTERECTOMY DOES NOT GET RID OF ENDOMETRIOSIS and I am very upset that that kind of advice is spread to people .... a doctor told my 22 year old daughter the same thing and i refused to believe that we finally found Dr. Kanayama in Manhattan New york and she is officially endometriosis free. Hysterectomy does not work because endometriosis travels outside the uterus into your bowel area, bladder intestines....... So please stop telling people that.... that is not true

This is mostly just in response to the disease in general, but I just want to make clear from a post I read above....a total hysterectomy WILL NOT cure this disease...there are many cases where endometriosis still thrives even after everything has been taken out, possibly due to the fact that this illness may be spread throughout your body via your blood stream, which can explain why some people even get this in their lungs and other non abdominal areas.

There are, however, great ways to manage this disease...I have done quite a bit of research as i am only 22 and was diagnosed about 6 months ago, and it was found in the most advanced stage already. I have two books which have proved very helpful. One of which is called "Endometriosis: a key to healing through nutrition" by Dian Shepperson Mills, M.A., and the other is "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" by Christiane Northrup, M.D...both supply a wealth of ways to control this disease and its effects on the body....One main thing to stay away from (which I have had a hard time following, note age) is alcohol....alcohol enters the body and immediately turns to fat, and fat produces more estrogen, which is why drinking alcohol increases your estrogen levels. And estrogen is also believed to be a culprit in severe symptoms of this disease, as most cases are women who have higher levels of estrogen...

Also, this disease tends to cause inflammation on a cellular level, and dairy products increase inflammation, so should also be avoided if possible..

i wont bore you with much more, but definately check these books out, they have been very helpful and have aided in my research on this disease.

Hello! I agree with the other girls.. I have heard that dr Kanayama is AMAZING! i'm considering seeing him as well, if we continue to have bad luck (going through IUI's, and miscarried twice now) i also have pcos, male factor - poor morphology, and LUFS, and one ovary.. fun stuff! : )         The one  natural treatment i did read about and have tried.. and got pregnant since doing this twice.. was a wheat free diet.. it sounds hard, but its easier than it seems.. most grocery stores offer gluten/wheat free selections, also by doing this you eat a low carb diet which has shown to help with fertility and PCOS.. they say that since endo might have an immune component that wheat causes an immune reaction which releases prostaglandins (inflammatory immune response) and can cause a harsh envirmonment for pregnancy, and cause pain.. Also i use omega 3 supplments becuase they are natural antiinflammatories!     GOOD LUCK!

as far as your issues, many women have success with acupuncture for treating endo and PCOS - as soon as I can afford it, I'm starting treatments!

best of luck to you

I have to agree with the individual who posted yesterday...you should get treated for endometriosis before you try IVF.  The success rates of the IVF treatment can be affected by the endo., not to mention all the hormones you're putting in your body are like adding fire to fuel.  They can actually accelerate the growth of the disease.  I know because I've been through it and it was not successful, but also my health worsened.

I wish you the best of luck.  I can recommend the doctor I saw.  He is one of the best.  Check out his website and please consider seeing him.  I'm from Canada and went to NYC just to be treated by him.  His name is Dr. Kanayama.  If you google him, you'll find his website.

I wish you all the best and understand what you're going through.

Don't know if you will see this since I'm surfing old posts but aside from you treating endo before doing IVF (which I suggest) have hubby get checked for Varicocele. It can cause low morphology and low motility. My brother in law had, got corrected, and they got pregnant naturally in 3 months. My hubby just had surgery to correct his (not necessarily genetic) and waiting to see what happens. Takes abput 3 months to make new sperm.

As far as you, I did IVF with ICSI before I had the varicocele or endo information and IVF failed. My NEW gyno says endo causes a harsh enviornment for embryo. So you could get pregnant with IVF but maybe not STAY pregnant if endo that bad. Don't waste your money. Get healthy before doing IVF!!!! I wish someone told me that!
Best of luck to you!

No, there is no cure except a complete hysterectomy. In your shoes that would not be the option. I am sorry but IVF is your best option.
