Surgical Clip possible cause for Endo??

Aprox. 8 years ago I had my gall bladder removed.  After the gall bladder removal, I had x-rays that showed I had a open surgical clip in my pelvis.  I was diagnosed with severe Endometriosis approx. 1 1/2 years ago.  I had surgery 3 weeks ago to have the endo removed.  The surgeon found the surgical clip right under my ovary that had severe endo.  Could this open clip, floating around in my body, could have caused scarring, triggering the endometriosis?

I wish I could give your more info, but as far as I know no one knows for sure what causes endo.  There is always a possibility.

Thats where I'm having problems.  I'd like to sue the Dr. for mal practise (the clip should not have been there in the first place) but I need another Dr. to back me up.  Unfortunately, here in Canada, doctors are like a cult and all stick together.  I've had some say its possible but not likely and thats not good enough.
