Wife had Laparoscopy and in pain...PLEASE HELP!

My wife had Laparoscopy surgery yesterday.  They made the incision in her naval and on each side.  She had two bad places of endometriosis, one on her right and one on her left side.  They also did a DNC on her.  She has not had a bowel movement all day and she is in a lot of pain, in tears and taking some pain meds.  Is it normal for her to be in so much pain?  I gave her some milk of magnesia about an hour ago hoping she has a bowel movement.  I may take her to the ER but she says no for now.  She is not yelling but complaining loudly.

Thanks

They put your digestion system to sleep when they knock you out. That means that no bowel movements is normal.

I had the same situation. Cysts adhesions on both ovaries. For me I was sore for a while when I exercised. I do yoga. At the time I was going for acupuncture so that seemed to help. Glad to hear your wife is feeling better.

Thanks, her pain level has decreased a little.  She tried eating some prunes but I will give the juice a try.  She is having a little movement but it is very hard she says.  She goes to her doctor Monday but like I said she is not in the pain she was

Hope your wife is doing better. Please update. In situations like that you must call your doctor's office ASAP. I had both procedures done but not at the same time. DNC is probably what is causing the pain. No BM could be due to pain meds. Prune juice works but don't over do it. Have a glass, give it time.
