endo and bowel issues

Hi my name is kim and I am 27 yrs old. I found  I had endometriosis after an emergancy lap done in jan of 06'. I had been hospitalized 2 times leading up to the lap and then went in for the lap after they found I had a blockage of my bowel. They found severe endo and cleaned up as much of it as they could. I did 6 months of lupron following that lap and had pain and bleeding during that 6 months. Then saw an RE for fertility and did a second lap in May 07' for severe right side pain. He removed scar tissue, cysts and endometriomas. And found my right ovary was stuck to my rectum. He left it this way because he couldn't find a safe place to cut it away. I have not had the kind of cramping or cervical pain that I used to since my last lap. Which is great for me but what has been happening is that I went from a 28 day cycle to a cycle that runs up  37 days. And with this longer cycle I have severe pain and bloating for the first 4 days of my period. This pain and bloating is just under my ribcage. It also comes with painful constipation. It feels very similar to the way I felt with the blockage in my bowel. So with all of that I would like any thoughts on the change of cycle length and what might be causing the "blockage" like feelings. Is this something I should discuss with my gyn? I would like to keep him abreast of any changes but don't want to run to him for nothing.
thank you for your time,
Kim

Actually I have seen 4 different gyns all of which have specialized degrees in fertility. I have also seen 2 different REs. And yes I  have tried b/c pills, several different times and types. I took all of them on continued basis in order to skip my period and yet still had severe pain and bleeding. I did Lupron and that puts u into menopause and yet still had pain & bleeding. My husband and I are ttc. The reason my ovary was not cut away from my bowel is because there was no safe plane the dr. could find and he didn't want to injure the bowel. Being bagged because of an accidental bowel puncture is not what I want. My personal choice is to  never go the route of removal of any reproductive organs: ovaries, etc. I have read enough and talked to many women who have done it and for my personal wants the pros and cons don't balance out. Thank you both for the input I appreciate it very much:)

My doctor did the same thing to me, sort of.  My last lap in Nov 07 he found my right ovary stuck to my colon but chose to leave it for fear of puncturing the colon.  He told me what signs to watch for if there might be changes or the adhesion was growing, seems like ever since then I've had trouble with bowel movements.  That might just be in my head though, or possibly something that was going on before and I never paid attention to it.  As ticked said, go back and keep going back until you get an answer and some satisfaction!  I think I made my gyn mad when I asked for a second opinion after he told me he wanted to remove my ovary, I didn't really care though.  I wanted to know for sure that there was no alternative and figured that if that's what had to happen, so be it, but if they were going to start taking out my parts, they were all going at one time.  You have to persevere, don't be afraid to go and ask to be re-evaluated, it's your right!

Where are you from?  Have you thought of getting a second opinion with the ovary being attached to the rectum?  I had stage IV endo (sigmoid rectovaginal endo) He removed everything and put it back in place and my ovaries were attached to and wrapped around my uterus and so was the bowel. I was having the same pain as you were with the ribcage and that ended up being scar tissue.  I had my surgery 7 months ago and 3 months of lupron and now the pain is back even the bowel pain argh!!!!  Did your doctor not put you in the pill continuiously so you dont get a period?  Are you TTC?  Even on the pill continuiously i am still now feeling bloated and in pain so I am not sure what to tell you.  I would go back to your doctor though for sure or go to another one to get a second opinion.
