endometrioma

I AM JUST HOPING ISOMEONE CAN HELP ME  TO UNDERSTAND ALL THIS. I AM 30 YEARS OLD AND JUST HAD MY SECOND CHILD 14 MONTHS AGO. AFTER GIVING BIRTH I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD A OVARIAN CYST ON MY RIGHT OVARY, NOT WORRIED BECAUSE THE SAME HAPPENED AFTER MY 1ST CHILD. THEN WENT BACK 6 MONTHS LATER IN SO MUCH PAIN, THE DR SAID IT HEMORAGED. ANOTHER THREE MONTHES I AM IN SOO MUCH PAIN AGAIN IT HAS GROWN TO 5.5 CM AGAIN WITH OLD TISSUE AND MY LEFT SIDE IS 2.5.
IS IT NORMAL TO BE THIS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THE SIZE OF THE ENDOMETRIOMAS I HAVE, AND WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF CONCEIVING ANOTHER CHILD?

Hi there. I was on given the 3-month Lupron shot due to the fact that I had a 6 cm endometrioma removed together with adhesions through a laparotomy.  I had some side effects like hot flashes, a little tired and a little headache in the evenings, and some difficulty sleeping, but more than a year later, there are no signs of endometriomas or endometriosis, and I am trying to see if I get pregnant.

I read horrible things about Lupron, but take into account that everyone reacts differently and at least for me, together with the lap helped me be free from endometriosis.  You could try a monthly shot and see how it goes, and if you have doubts, talk to your doctor.

Hope everything goes well and best luck trying to conceive.

Hi Curly2121:
I did have some headaches when I was on Lupron, but I don't think they were related to the Lupron itself.  I think it was due to the lack of sleep and constant anxiety.  I guess it really depends on how your body reacts to it.  When I first researched Lupron, I read nothing but negative reviews and horror stories... but keep in mind that people don't usually post much with positive results.  Most forums are with negative stories and women looking for help.  I bet, however, there are thousands of women out there who had a positive experience with Lupron, but we just don't hear about it.
If you opt to treat with Lupron, I trully hope it will work well with your body and that you'll feel minimal changes.
Best of luck conceiving!!!!

I took Lupron and it worked wonders. I haven't had pain in years. I did 5 months of treatment and felt like a new person. I did have side effects like hot flashes and difficulty sleeping. My sister is on her 3rd round of Lupron after her 2nd Laproscopy.
Mine may be back due to difficulty with preg and mc but pain is not and I don't miss that!

ahhhh.... Lupron.... I was on it before I had the lap.  Couldn't last on it for more then a month.  I had awful side effects; anxiety attacks, palpitations, insomnia and many others.  On the positiv side, I was pain free for about 2 weeks and it dried up ALL MY CYSTS.  Becasue of the side effects my doctor decided it wasn't a good treatment for me so we did the lap.  birth control is not an option for me either as I suffer from severe migranes.
Ok, I do have to say that Lupron is very effective and that not all women suffer side effects like I did.  Lupron tricks your body into a menopausal state (you don't actually go thru menopause - but that's how the hormones affect the body).  With that said, you actually feel all the menopausal symptoms... just as if  you were going thru menopause.  If you're thinking about trying it, I suggest you start with the 1 month shot only to see how you do (there's a 3 month shot option as well) and ask for nerothindrone.  It's a prestrogin pill and it cuts down on the menopause symptoms.
If you do well with Lupron (meaning, the side effects are minor/tolerable), it can be very, very effective.
Let me know how you make out.

Hello,
Sounds like you've been goin thru some pain.  I, too have a history with hemorrhagic cysts bleeding out.  That in itself is excruciating.
And yes, depending on the size of the cyst, they can cause a lot of disconfort, especially the 5.5cm one.  I have an almost 7 cm cyst on my right ovary right now.... and it's unbelievable how much it hurts.  Pretty much with everything I do I'm reminded of it by a constant dull pain or sometimes sharp stabbing pain.
As far as trying to conceive, I don't know how that would play into it.
I would call your doctor and ask if if he sees it as a problem.
Good luck with everything!!!
