endrometriosis and repeat miscarriages??

Hi everyone,

I was wondering has anyone has any experience with having endometriosis and having multiple 1st trimester miscarriages? My mother has endometriosis so it's likely that I may have it. I used to have heavy, very bad cramping and went on the pill for a few years. I went off last Fall when my hubby and I started to try for a baby. I lost it at ~6 weeks (missed miscarriage) and my first symptoms were pretty much constrained to my left side (upper and lower abdomen, tender to the touch like a bruise, progressed to my lower back, etc). Since then I've had a chemical pregnancy which again was started by the same feeling, but was much earlier than my 1st pregnancy. I'm a few weeks along and am getting it again. I read that endometriosis can cause tubal blockages which prevent the egg from descending, but does anyone know if it's possible that an adhesion or something could keep embryo from developing, after it's implanted? Since I've been off the pill longer now than I was back in the Fall, I'm wondering if the possible endometriosis may be affecting pregnancies earlier.

My ultrasounds didn't reveal anything abnormal but then again you can't really see endometriosis can you.

thanks!

I think the generation before us saw the pain as normal and they never sought help.

I think because of the awareness of endometriosis more women are looking into why they have so much pain.

After my daughter it was the worst. My hormones were all over the place, nausea, heartburn, migraines, severe cramping, constipation etc.  Once I went on the pill before my surgery I noticed a huge change in my mood. I was so happy that at least that was better and the migraines went away so they must be associated with the rise in estrogen.

After my surgery the constipation went away because they removed a rectovaginal cyst that was blocking and causing pain when I would have bowel movements.

Now 4yrs after the surgery I do feel better but now my uterus is adhered to my bowels and my ovary attached to my uterus. I have cramping once in a while but I am now having side effects of the pill i think.

I have to see my doctor to confirm what is going on. I have thinning of the perineum area so i have a ton of fissures that will not go away and they burn and hurt like a b-----!!

I have really sore breasts, no sex drive, urinary issues and painful sex when I do have it.

I am not sure if its because I am lacking estrogen or that I am not making enough progesterone.  So troubles after troubles I have had with this disease and I am really sick of it lol

Jeez that's a history. My mom doesn't have any sisters and I don't recall if her mother had problems. I think my mom had a minor lap but was definitely relieved when menopause came. I hope you're improving (just looked at your profile quickly). How long did it take for your symptoms to return after you had your daughter?

Best of luck to you!

No problem :)

My aunt (mom's sister) had Stage IV like myself and had a hyster when she was 25.

My cousin (My moms sisters daughter) has endometriosis as well not sure what grade but it seems to be hereditary for sure.

I swear my mom has it but has never been checked and I or she will never know.

Yeah she did, but said to keep a cycle diary to be sure that I was having severe-enough symptoms. She said that I probably have it since my mom has it, but didn't want to do a lap straight away (I don't blame her). Fortunately since this post that feeling I mentioned only lasted a day and other good, less scary preg symptoms have popped up. But this doesn't mean endometriosis isn't in my future, and as I get older I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks for your response!

Has your doctor said anything about doing a lap to see if your tubes are blocked or if you might have endometriosis?
