i mean, i was devistated to hear that. no teeanger should have to hear that
their future isnt going to be able to include having their own kids.
but i just want opinions on this, do you think theres any way that two doctors
could be wrong and i could end up getting pregnant when im older?

hi there I have endometriosis - stage 4-5 and chocolate cysts inside my ovaries on each side about 3cm in size left slightly bigger but right more of - I am seeing a top fertility specialist in south africa and he is the forementioned leader on endometriosis - I will have a laporotomy to remove the growths they cut open my ovary and cut the growth out then stich ovaries back up - I also have endo at the pouch of douglas my FS says its going to be a 2-4 hour operation and after my endo is removed I should have no problem in conceiving a child through IVF so please go for a second opinion as you must go to  a specialist in endo - I am seeing dr at cape fertility clinic as well as a prof kruger at tygerberg fertility clinic he is the top prof I know of please dont just take one person opionion I got 3 opinions and all were positive even with my bad endo - obviously that may change when they open me up and see whats there ie adhesions ect but for now its not looking too terrible and I should be able to be a mommy soon

hugs and take care sweetie ok

I would for sure get a second opinion before you get to terribly upset.  I have endo and cysts and was diagnosed at 17.  They told me it might be hard and the younger I was the better chance I had to conceive but I did not get pregnant until I was 26 and did not carry a child to term until I was 29.  I don't think they can predict whether or not you will be infertile (maybe I am wrong) but endo is a strange disease and people with severe disease can do many things and there are always options for having children (maybe you would just have to do IVF-that is still having your own child and carrying it)  I would go see another doctor to make yourself feel better and discuss what the best options are for treatment.  Good luck, you are starting out on this journey at such a young age.  I know how hard it is and am hoping for the best for you!

Hi.
I had all of that (endo, cysts) and plus tumor... They removed my right ovary, so I have just one left. I was 19 when all that was happening. And from then I am almost four years on birth control (Yasmin) and I experienced early menopuase for six months (taking Zoladex shots) because I have problems with my left ovary, too. All of that time I am going on doctor and I haven't heard from any doctor that I am infertile, that I will not be able to have children. Maybe it will be a little harder than usual, but nothing about infertility. My doctors are suggesting that I conceive, cause they think that pregnancy will solve the problem at least for few years. But I am still recovering from Zoladex, so after my organism is stabilized, I will try to get pregnant, so then we will see what is going to happen and who is right! :-)
Just wanted to know my case.
Hope that your doctors are wrong!
P.S. I know how it is when you hear about something that you woun't be able to do in future when you don't even plan about that future cause you are too young for that plans and decisions and I understand you completely! I am living my life a little faster. But we must deal with some things as much as we can!
I know that you heard bad news, but try not to worry too much!
Hope that everyting turns ok at the end! Take care!
Thea
