recovery help

My fiance had Laproscopy surgery about 2 1/2 weeks ago, she is having sharp pains in her abdomen and random times of extreme nausea and headaches, is this normal, abnormal, I dont know if her doctor is giving her the time of day in her appointments, he seems to rush through and always says, " oh it will be like that for a few weeks", he has been saying that for a few weeks now, any suggestions?

Hi I don't know if I can help but I had a laparoscopic surgery in January, but they also had to make an abdominal incision once they saw what was going on inside me, and I never had any of those symptoms. My pain was mostly a dull, throbbing type of pain, only when the pain meds were wearing off! I only had sharp pains if I moved too suddenly or used my stomach muscles, but that was just because of the abdomen incision. It doesn't really sound right to me..but I'm no expert, so if she still has them I'd call another doctor or PA or someone and get a second opinion. Sometimes my doctor sort of rushes me out, too and I hate it. I hope she feels better.

It doesn't really sound normal to me.  You can expect some pain after the surgery for a few days, at least it did for me.  I kept with the pain meds for a few days, and then was off them.  I couldn't get out of bed or move for 2 days.  I had shoulder pain really bad for a few days.  Since it's been a couple of weeks, I would try and see if she could get in with someone to see if everything is healing correctly.  When she had her stitches taken out, was she still in this much pain?  My suggestion is to see her doctor or talk to a nurse to explain the pain.

I can't imagine feeling that bad for that long, but everyone's different. I had a severe headache for about a week after from the anesthesia and some abdominal pain and nausea, but it had mostly cleared up at 2 and half weeks. I will say though, that I didn't feel "back to normal" for about a month. The anesthesia always makes me feel pretty bad for a while.

I have had 3 laperoscopies and have never had those symptoms I would deffinately try to find another doctor.

i had pains in shoulders as well after laparoscopy, those were because of gasses they used to filled my stomach so internal organs are more visable, after surgery those gasses cause shoulder pains, after while they disapear. I had stomach pain too, it stopped after while. I even called my surgeon 2 days after surgery, I felt like my right area (ovaries) were on fire. She was not concerned at all, instead she brushed me off...if I am not nauseous, womitting and don't have fever....(all together) she can't help...and it's normal..............some pains stopped months after surgery.....good luck, if she feels very uncomfortable, send her to see dr and complain, it;s her health...dr. are unconsiderate some of it.........find new dr...............i had not good surgeon,left some endo in i have to go back soon for lap..............
