should i start birth control?

hi
im 14
i have severe lower abd pain on both sides ..it comes and goes but mostly is continuous.
i have lower back pain as well.
sometimes i have urge to pee and only a few drops come out or nothing.
i feel bloated.
my periods are very painful and i do pass quite a few clots.
i have recently been examined by a doc at the emerg.
he palpated my stomach and took some blood.
he said all the tests are normal and scheduled me for a ultrasound.
he also took a urine test that was normal.
i have been having this pain for the past year since i started my period but it is getting worse and the back pain is only within the past couple of months and its pretty much constant.
i heard birth control can help the pain and shrink the endometriomes..if that what it is.
im wondering if i should start beirth control right away or should i wait until ive had the ultrasound or a laperoscopy so the results arent skewed.
please advise if you can
thank you and im happy to find a forum to talk about this..thanks to all

I would find a really good specialist and go see them.  You are probably going to want to start BC to prevent any potential endometriosis that could be there from getting worse, also it might alleviate your symptoms.  But you definately want to see a GYN.  I had symptoms just like yours and found out that I had endometriosis on my bladder through a laparoscopy I had just two days ago.  It's definately worth seeing a doctor about it to make sure that nothing is wrong

BC can help with Endometriosis.  I would talk to your doctor and parents about the options you have.  If you find out it is endo then you might want to find a specialist in your area.  Etiher way though I would definitely see a gyno because going on the pill can also help with heavy or painful periods.  Any form of BC can really help with that.  I wish you the best of luck hun and if you have any questions feel free to ask or message me if you want to keep it private.  Take care and keep me posted.  =)
