Does my daughter have epilepsy?

She is 13 yrs old, and frequently has upper body muscle spasms. why?

Theasian mentions minerals.  Magnesium deficiency in specific can cause tremors, twitching, tics, spasms, aches, etc.  Magnesium regulates nerves and muscles, among other things.

muscle spasms/twitches/jerks are called myoclonus. there are many causes: kidney/liver failure, insufficient minerals in the body, spinal cord/brain trauma and many others or it could just be benign and not have a cause. i suggest you get it checked out by a doctor
