Hi,

Epanutin capsules, oral suspension and infatabs all contain the active ingredient phenytoin, an anticonvulsant. This is effective against generalised tonic-clonic and partial seizures. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine: rapid involuntary movements of the eyes, shaky movements and unsteady walk, slurred speech, decreased coordination, confusion, drowsiness/dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, headache, nausea and vomiting, skin rashes, enlargement of the gums or lips, hirsutism, and coarsening of facial features. The twitching could be attributed to this medication while there is no evidence of weight gain with this drug. You should discuss what kind of epilepsy you have and the side effect you are experiencing to your doctor if it affects you in  your day to day activities.

Take care and keep us posted.
