Having babies during epilespy

Hi,
My sister is taking Lamictol 100 mg twice a day for her epilepsy. she is a very mild case of epilepsy. her fits are very very rare and only lasts a minute. she had one recently after 5 years of gap. I just needed to know if such people can have a normal family and have babies alongside taking the medication? how much of a risk is involved and what type of risks?

I also take Lamictal 100mg twice a day. I took topamax for 6 years but after my husband and I decided we were ready for kids my doc switched me to Lamictal. Said it was one of the safest for pregnancy. I am also on 4 mg of folic acid to help prevent a clef pallet defect to the baby which Is the most common birth defect of babies born to epileptic patients. I am now 7 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. My neuro and obgyn are working side by side during my pregnancy and both think I will have a perfectly healthy baby. Good luck to your sister! Hope this helps.
