hi juliewave,i have been on 400mg of dilantin for 9yrs. ive had up to 600mg but just to get my level back up .but i have seizures if it is lower than 400mg.the only bad thing about being on dilantin for a long time it makes your bones weak. ive heard of someone taking 700mg ! so if thats what it takes for us to live a normal life , its not that bad. neur said if i change meds it would be a lot more mgs ,so im jappy with just 400mg. once your body gets use to the doseage you wont be so sleepy. brainpain
