Memory en concentration

Hello,

My daughter is 6 years old and she had only a epileptic siezure once at age of three, 3 years ago. she put on Tegretol for about a year and a half. Because she didnt have any siezures anymore we gradually stoped the medicine. During her medications, she had problems with short en long term memory loss and even problems with hallucination and concentration.

Now that the medication is stopped she still suffers from the side effects. (the long term memory seems to work fine now.)

Is it possible that the side effects remain after stopping this medicine? If so, how long does it take to wear off completely? Or is it possible that Tegretol dameged her brain functionality permanently?

Thank you very much in advance.
