Possible partial seizures

I am a 25 yr old female diagnosed with tonic-clonic 'grand-mal' epilespy since I was 18. I usually have 2-3 episodes / yr, usually in the morning, and they are fairly well controlled w/ Lamictal. For the past 3 months I have had several experiences in which I feel strange in the morning and then for 2-3 hours have diplopia (horizontal double vision) and migraines. I have lately been waking up with numb hands in the middle of the night as well. Usually this happens only during my menstral cycle. My neurologist said it could be partials, but is unsure, he gave me an as needed Avitan , which I take when I feel weird (dizzyish, floating) in the morning, but it doesn't help. What's up with this? The MRI shows nothing abnormal (phew). Any suggestions???
