Simple-partial seizures????????? please help

Can the person who is having a simple-partial seizure respond while having one?  
Usually my daughter will have tics starting with her belly and then spreading throughout her body.  Usually not at the same time.  It usually starts with her belly, to shoulders, to pelvis, back to belly, and sometimes her belly with twitch constantly.  She always makes mouth noises the whole time while doing this.  She has started sniffing her nose also while doing this.  When I call her name she will stop and then start back up.  I ask her if she is in pain and she stops says no and her tics continue.   She is ten and has been doing this off and on for two years now.   This started up a couple of days ago.  It is horrible to watch her do this.  She has already been diagnosed with complex-partial seizures.  I am just curious if this is partial or tonic or what  any ideas?

She is going April 1st for 24hour video EEG.  I wished it was before then.  She is also on medicine for the complex-partial seizures.

I'm not sure how closely related simple-partials are to "auras" but I have always been coherent during my small episodes (a.k.a., auras). I am unable to speak fluently or perform complex activity but I can still understand simple words, walk, respond with physical gestures, & I remain aware of my surroundings. On average I had approx. 20 a day, ranging from 2 sec.- 40 sec. spells, & only a third of them were followed by a more intense episode. I hope this helped
