could this be epilepsy?

by freezingd, Aug 13, 2009 04:47PM
regularly i have flickering light, like a faulty bulb in peripheral vision of both eyes, esp noticable in dark. main prob is every day suddenly i feel unwell, weak and very fatigued as a warning and often no warning and for example i may be reading and the fatigue begins and my vision goes double, treble and i then hold a hand over one eye so i can carry on with what i am doing and just cannot focus at all and then bosh...i have fallen asleep. I come round and carry on with what i was doing and i go again, and i goes on for an hour or i can just find i am coming round and have lost time maybe minutes or up to 3 hours. i cannot control this and it will happen anywhere, anytime and also i have patches of one to two weeks of utter fatigue and unable to stay awake for long and i am couch ridden. then i will have a heavy sleep attack like anaesethic and will wake up and be heavy and unable to move and go back into the sleep and wake up, sometimes with a high pitched sound and i am wide awake, feeling normal, better than i had for weeks until before being couch ridden, then i stuggle to sleep that night and am up early, fine all day except for dull ache in nape and nausea of which a paracetamol fixes, then later i have sudden vision loss and sleep attaack which then passes as if it never happened. i have found the change from a week of a like drawn out sleep attack ends with a big one high pitched sound and i wake up with headach and feel cold a lot and use paracetamol for a life at all.  it started when someone took away my prozac and same time diagnosed ebv . went back on prozac and i have now been off it for at least 6 monthsand this was really bad then.  i would lose consciousness in mid conversation with strangers, in shops anywhere, feeling fatiged all day and that was seven years ago. so, it is not so severe now and i d
o have a warning, liket= the fatigue or ache in nape and feel flue like and have to get home quick or my focus wont  happen.  i thought i ws hypo thyroid, esp with the low body temp but tests prove normal.  this is so bad that i cannot make arrangements and cannot get up in morning and dont know if i can get anywherebefore one p.m and eves i will have the attack at four, five, six or seven pm averagely.  it does make mefeel ill . any ideas. gp tomorrow so i hp someone can tellme what to tell the gp. do i need a ct scan or is mri or what shall i ask for?
