Hello doctor...
My daughter aged 4year 9month old suffered from seizure recently...
1. she got her first febrile convulsion whn she ws 2yrs 6months...her EEG in stage 1/2 of NREM report on 01.07.2008 said.. There is not presence of any abnormal wave form.

2.she got her second febrile convulsion whn she ws 2yrs 7months...her EEG in stage 1/2 of NREM report on 28.08.2008 said.. There is not presence of any abnormal wave form....
her MRI report on sept 01.2008 said No definite lesion seen.

3.she got her third febrile convulsion whn she ws 3 years...her EEG in stage 1/2 of NREM report on 07.01.2009 said.. There is presence of focal spikes in rt anterior leads were present.

4.she got her fourth febrile convulsion whn she ws 4 years...her EEG in stage 1/2 of NREM report on 06.04.2010 said.. There is presence of occasional generalised sharp wave and slow wave discharges.


5.she got her fourth febrile convulsion whn she ws 4 years 9 months...her EEG in stage 1/2 of NREM report on 14.08.2010 said.. There is presence of focal neuronal discharge.

the first three times this happened wd fever but last two convulsions we cudn't guess if she had fever..

I am tooooo much worried for my daughter....plzzz tell me wht she's been goin thru?.... i wnt to kno her actual problem .....wht is she suffering from.
she will be 5years on 20th october 2010.
Plzzz I & my husband are tooo much worried and need your EXPERT ADVICE SIR.

febrile seizures are common in children up to 6 years old. usually they tend to outgrow them afterwards but the fact that your daughter has had quite a few may indicate that she will develop epilepsy when she is older. have you taken her to see a neurologist? maybe you should try some anticonvulsants, they usually say for about 2 years, to see if it helps and if the seizures do stop then she can be weaned off it to see if it was actually just a childhood thing.
