EPILEPSY COMMUNITY
my daughter of 7

my daughter of 7

My daughter had a seizure abt 6 weeks ago she has been a heathy girl she had a MRI which was normal, and a EEG the background activity was movements and muscle artefacts were seen occasionaly mixture of fairly symetric mixed-frequency reactive to visual attention. Admixture of moderate high amplitude activities troughout with a posterior dominant mix of a quiet well formed 7-9 HZ modified alpha rhythm (around 60 uV and 4-6 Hz theta activities (upto 200 uV though mostly around 120 uV amplitude Latter Theta activities had a quite triangular morphology at times and occasionaly noted witha shifting hemispheric emphasisi. Underlying 2-3 Hz Delta waves were seen quite prominently throughout, which superposed with the admixed alpha/theta activities to give the background a quite irregular appearance at times. A few short runs of prominent centro-frontal 18Hz beta were seen intersprersed the record at moderate-high amplitude (up to 110uV)
Comment The EEg performed in the awake state, has a rather irregular appearance at times with a mild excess of intermixed theta activity. However, these are very non-specific changes and there is nothing more definite than this.
There are no focal features and no epileptic activity.
There is no evidence of photosensitivity
Summary: Mild, non-specific changes with some excess of theta activity, but no epileptiform features.
(Prescribed previously the EEG and MRI) with Buccal Midazolam 7.5 mg if seizure last more than 5 mins.

MY QUESTIONS: Can you please explain me what does it represents the intermixed Theta activity, in general the result of this EEG, if she is not showing epileptiform why she had a seizure? she did not have fever or was sick.
