my boyfriend is 18 and he never had siezures before. then in jan. he had one in his sleep for no appearent reason. then he started getting them every week. then the doctors put him on some medication. then it stopped working and he had them every night, so they added another medicine. now every time he doesnt take the meds he has multipule uncontrollable siezures asleep and awake. have you ever seen a case like this. (the doctors did mir's and catscans they were all normal)

I am 42. Just had my first seizure in March 09.....actually 2 in a row. It was the day of the full moon. I took Dilantin. No seizure the next month, except for a few wierd episodes that I have now learned are partial seizures, (complex?). After 3 weeks on Dilantin, I became allergic. I stopped all meds. My neuro agreed with this. Three days after the full moon in May, I had another seizure.....grand mals/clonic-tonics (whatever)...The first one was in my sleep. The second one, I was at work and I ad an "aura" about 3 minutes before I started to seize. I was on Topamax, but it makes me sick too. The full moon is past, so I have stopped the medication, (I was only on it for 2 weeks or so and at the lowest 75mg dose) until I see a specialist in July. I know this may seem irresponsible, but I can no longer just switch from med to med, not knowing what the hell is going on, (I forgot to mention I was on Keppra for a week or two after the 2nd seizure, but it made me constantly think of suicide). All I know from my MRI is that I have an acoustic neuroma and a chiari malformation of the skull....not causing the seizures, so I don't care.....the 1st EEG in the ER showed a spike in electrical activity, subsequent EEG was normal. I don't know what to tell you other than get the best advice you can, weight each bit of information carefully and good luck!

Peace!
