CRP

I have 2yr old that has been sick since July 4th with high fevers and vomiting. I took him to the doctors office and he took some blood work. Then he tells me that his CRP is high. What does that really mean? Thank you

CRP is a protein which is produced in response to an inflammation. So a raised level of CRP indicates that there is some inflammation in your childs body somewhere.... possibly due to an infection.

I'm guessing the doctor either prescribed some antibiotics or decided he was going to run some further tets to find the inflammation?

Hope this helps.
