EBV results....please advise

EBV  VCA ANTIBODY  (IGM)  .90
EBV VCA ANTIBODY  (IGG)  >5.00
EBV (EBNA) Antibody (IGG)  4.14

Index:
or = 1.10  positive

I know that I currently do not have the virus by the test results, but I do have fatigue, extreme exhaustion etc.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

Hi, I would say these test results show that you don't currently have an active infection (please keep in mind I'm not a doctor).  However, in addition to your positive results (both IGG's), your IGM is close to the positive threshhold.  So it looks like you are still dealing with an "older" infection.  Unfortunately there's not really a good way to tell how long ago you first contracted the infection, but I would say it may have been fairly recently (within the last few months) due to your IGM being so high within the negative range.  Also, please understand that once you have contracted EBV, it stays in your body for life; in most people it goes dormant, but there is the possibility of relapses.  But I think your test results look more like a recent initial infection.  I hope that helps, but don't be afraid to ask more questions!

Also,  can any of these #'s give me an indication as to how long ago I may have had the virus?
