EBV:how do u know?

Hi guys,

How does someone know they have the EBV virus?
I am also concerned of Infectious mononucleusis, do u have to have a sore throat with white patches on tonsils
or fever with ulcers/sores are enough to tell you?

I will do a blood test sometime and test for that just to see if I have it or not..harmless anyway.

My DR ordered it with my CBC (Complete Blood Count)  It was very hign in Feb   Then he did it again 30 days later same results,  I have been told it can take 6 Months or longer to go away.

Can my GP do that as part of a blood test check or is it only available in hospitals?

"this will show if you have it currently." one would think but I have very high  titers for EBV but some DR's say it is only an old infection and some say because my antibodies arfe still climbing that it indicates current infection I think  it is open to interprtation by what ever DR you are seeing

Your Dr. will order a blood test called the Epstein Barr Panel and this will show if you have it currently.
