Flu Shot

I have been reading here about not getting the flu shot with EBV. I have always gotten a regular flu shot every year but now fearful of getting one. I am concerned about getting Guillain-Barre syndrome. Are people with EBV more prone in getting GB syndrome? I have had nerve studies done and have polyneuropathy and not sure if EBV can cause nerve damage.

Also would it be advisable for people with chronic EBV to have a shingles shot? EBV is a herpes so would it be safe to get a shingles shot as well?
